2005 Business of the Year

Tree Trimming Trucks
For Trees has the only 4x4, 63 foot working height aerial tree trimming truck in our area! To better serve our clients in Mountain View County and surrounding communities.

Quality equipment makes it easier for quality work to be done.


For Trees takes pride in recycling all materials. All wood in the form of mulch or logs can be left on your property for you to use or we will take it to our Didsbury tree nursery to be recycled.


International Climber!
Ken Moore is an instructor at Olds College and represented the Prairie Chapter in the International Tree Climbing Competition in 2008 and 2009. Here he holds his 2009 trophy.Each year, tree climbers from around the world test their skills in five events with hopes of making it to the Master's Challenge. Ken Moore, arborist with the For Trees Company, has done that twice! Ken entered his first International Tree Climbing Competition in 2008 in St Louis, Missouri, representing Alberta's ISA Prairie Chapter. He again competed in 2009 in Rhode Island, competing with the best in the world.

Ken Moore is a graduate of Tree Climbing, Fall Protection and Work Positioning, Rope Access, Technical Tree Falling, Hazard and Danger Tree Cutting and Falling, Spar Pole Rigging, Emergency Readiness and High Angle Rescue, and Custom Emergency Evacuation and extrication.

Ken has been an arborist with For Trees Co. since 2004, returning to Olds College each fall where he is an instructional Assistant in the School of Horticulture. He is an ISA Certified Arborist. In 2008 and 2009, Ken was named Men's Division Champion at the ISA Prairie Chapter Tree Climbing Championship, and is a World Tree Championship Climber.

James is the most recent addition to the For Trees Company. He has just moved to Didsbury from England where he was certified as a climbing arborist.
James Forrester

James is a Certified Proficient Tree Surgeon and one of the best tree climbers anywhere. James is very experienced and skilled at the safe removal of large trees in hard to access areas with limited space. We are very pleased to have him aboard, and yes, that is his real name.

Hendrik is a very talented landscaper with great ideas from his homeland of Australia.

Hendrik holds a Trades Certificate in Parks and Gardens from New South Wales. An experienced Landscape Gardener as well as a talented carpenter and stonemason, Hendrik is also keenly interested in permaculture and landscape sustainability.

Josh is a natural when it comes to tree knowledge.

Fredericton, New Brunswick

Josh has worked his entire life in Forestry and Urban Forestry, and loves working with trees. Josh is a recent graduate of Arboriculture Canada's Precision Felling and Hazard Tree Removal Course, which sharpened his already considerable arborist skills.

Garrett is currently working on his Bachelor of Applied Science: Landscape Management at Olds College and has already earned a Diploma in Arboriculture from the same institution. He enjoys climbing trees and growing new trees from the seeds he collects while up there.

Gerda was raised in the Carstairs area and is a graduate of both the University of Calgary and Olds College, where she received her Diploma in Horticulture majoring in Arboriculture. She is an ISA Certified Arborist. Gerda enjoys anything "natural" and in fact, is the only person in the area to have a completely locavore wedding. Gerda married James Edwards at the For Trees Nursery in 2008.

Tara Battram is a member of the Wellspring Visual ArtNetwork Association.

Tara has been with For Trees since 2004 and has completed the Custom Emergency Aerial Truck Evacuation & extrication program, as well as Tree Pruning and Tree Climbing through Arboriculture Canada. In the fall of 2009, Tara completed both the Tree Care, Selection & Planting course, and the Tree Care, Preservation & Care course. As a graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design, Tara brings special design talents to the For Trees Company. Her hobbies include creating beautiful pieces of jewellery, silversmithing, and working with metals.

Julie is the daughter of MaryAnn and Paul Sparling of Carstairs.

Julie is a graduate of Hugh Sutherland School in Carstairs, and is a Journeyman Landscape Gardener with a Diploma in Horticulture from Olds College. Julie is currently on maternity leave.

James brings great ideas on recycling and sustainable landscapes.
James Edwards

Olds, Alberta

James owns Jade Ecology Holdings, and is active with the preservation of the Rosebud River watershed through his affiliation with the Upland Rosebud Alliance. He has his BSc. in Forest Ecology, and is very active in sustainable living, particularly water quantity and quality.
