In July 2009, Gerard Fournier, owner of For Trees Company, was named one of the world's first "True Professional of Arboriculture" by the International Society of Arboriculture. Storm damaged trees have remarkable abilities to generate new growth, but sometimes it is better off to remove the wrong tree growing in the wrong place rather than to prune it again and again and again. Replace a fast growing tree like a poplar with a slower growing, longer lived tree like ash, oak or elm.

Tip of the Day
Clusters of double spring azalea flowers are found on this deciduous shrub. The azalea is available in various flower colours, foliage turns bronzy-red in fall. Azalea prefer a sheltered, partial shade location and acidic (pH below 7), moist soil. They are best planted in Zone 4, Calgary south to Lethbridge and Medicine Hat.
