Treevia
Feed your lawn with compost and leave grass clippings where they fall for nutrient recycling. It is good to aerate compacted soil in the fall. This helps oxygen, water and nutrients reach the roots. In high traffic areas you may consider to replace grass with paving stones or mulch. Mow high and dry! Grass should be cut at a height of 6-8cm or 2.5-3 to promote vigorous growth, prevent weeds and discourage insect pests. Keep your blade sharp. Grass recovers more quickly and easily from a clean cut than when it's torn. A lawn needs 2.5cm or 1 of water and infrequently to promote deep roots. Too much water starves the soil of oxygen and invites disease. |
Tip of the Day Dogwoods perform best in partial sunlight and evenly moist soil, because they are undergrowth plants in low-lying areas. |
